Charles Vandersluys has been capturing the heart and soul of Monhegan Island Maine in photography since 1995. Charles developed an interest in professional photography when his sister-in-law suggested joining the St Catharines camera club. He attended photography workshops there and up in Toronto with instructor Tibor Horvath. He told Charles about the Professional Photographers of America and how it would advance his photography. Charles joined the association and eventually was awarded his Masters and Craftsman degree. The only photographer in Niagara to do so.

The first time Charles came out to Monhegan Island was in 1995, and stayed at The Inn that year. Than coming back 4 years later and kept on returning until covid hit.  He was able to return in 2022.

Charles was the official photographer for the island during it's 400 birthday. 

Charles is also represented by the Lupine Art Gallery on Monhegan Island Maine.

Monhegan is an island in the Gulf of Maine located in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. A plantation, a minor civil division in the state of Maine falling between unincorporated area and a town, it is located about 12 nautical miles off the mainland. The population was 64 at the 2020 census

Artist colony

The beginnings of the art colony on Monhegan date to the mid-19th century; by 1890, it was firmly established. Two of the early artists in residence from the 1890s, William Henry Singer (1868–1943) and Martin Borgord (1869–1935),

This collection of Limited Edition prints is from images he has taken over the years.

They are mounted on a 14x11 white matt board with a 12x8 high gloss print.  The are also signed and numbered.
